Inspire Others: Turning Tragedy into Triumph!

“What moments do you have in your life that will inspire others?” was the question that Donn Rochlin of Donn Rochlin & Co.—Transformation Through Creativity, asked the Professional Women’s Group at Dress for Success Oregon recently. Most of the women in the group have overcome hardship in their lives to become successful thanks to the help of Dress for Success and the monthly programs they sponsor such as Donn Rochlin’s recent presentation on “The Art Of Public Speaking and Inspiring Others.”

Donn’s thought-provoking question showed many of the group that the story they had was not a victim story, but a story of triumph that could be used to inspire others to the success that they were now enjoying. The key ingredient is to use what they have learned from those tough situations and show others a way to overcome their hardships by creating a story that:

• Shows others a possible path to travel
• Changes stumbling blocks into a pathway
• Mentoring others is beneficial not only to the receiver but the giver.

• Range in age from 18-60, with the majority age 18-38.
• Lived under the poverty level prior to receiving Dress for Success’s services.
